"These guys work very hard, make some unbelievable records, and are the backbone of the label. They all deserve to be showcased and promoted as much as anyone. On top of that I have an ongoing friendly rivalry with my partners at Queep Music. Damien does some killers comps over there, and he kept making them bigger and bigger and better. One Night I was at home and 2 bottles of wine later I came up with the STACKED series. I thought to myself, I'll show him...I'll put 30 tracks on this one...hahahaha...no seriously....This is the best of the best of house and electro, inspired by the people and labels who make these tracks. I am proud of this comp, and I think every track on here is a knee trembler."

RISE OF THE MUTANTS

STEREO MUTANTS DJ MIX

www.the-joint.net/mixes/stereo-mutants.mp3

2 of the UK's leading new house music producers are also 2 of the UK's finest DJs. After launching their assault on dancefloors across the world with a release on Defected records in 2005, the Mutants have knocked up a string of successful releases on labels both at home in Europe and across the pond in the US. UK born and bred, the Stereo Mutants are Si Gordon & Piers Kirwan, 2 DJ / producers who since the late 80's have slowly moved up and worked their way into the global house music network. The boys have known and worked with each other as DJs for a good 12 years, both the DJs careers began doing house parties in and around the South West of England during the late 80's early 90's. Piers at the time was playing massive warehouse parties whilst Simon would be spinning at smaller clubs and parties, the pair knew of each other but never really hooked up until late 92 when Simon asked Piers to reside alongside him at the now infamous Natural Rhythm nights. These nights were run by Si and wife Caite and during their 9 year reign the 2 DJs played alongside such luminaries as Claudio Coccoluto, Alex Neri, Danny Rampling, Smokin Jo, Angel Moraes, Xpress 2, Ricky Montanari, Allister Whitehead, CJ Mackintosh and many more.. Off the back of this success came a string of dates and gigs nationally and internationally, so from 92 to present day the guy's have built their names slowly and continue to DJ worldwide. As producers they constantly release & remix for Defected Records, Bubblesoul Music, Hardsoul Pressings, Duffnote, Delecto, MOD recordings, Clubstar records, Justsoul Records and many more· As DJs they partner up back to back and create a dancefloor fusion of deep soulful, afro-latin tinged house music, their sound now and in previous years has taken them backwards and forwards around the globe, from the States to Russia, Turkey, Serbia, Paris to Berlin and many more stops along the way· it's house music, it's a groove· 2006 saw the launch of the boys new label - Mutated Music. Now on it's 3rd release, their fresh take on the house sound has gained support from among others, DJ Tekin, Grant Nelson, Hardsoul, Copyright, Simon Dunmore, Audiowhores, Oscar P, Juke Joint, Davidson Ospina & Christian Hornbostel and many many more· 2007 looks like it will be the year the Mutants rise up!

LONDON'S DARREN HOLLAND In NYC @ BAR 13 - SEPT 15TH

During WMC UK based promo guru Darren Holland (Baldeelox) was raving. "Check this out". "This is the new track mate". He pulled out the Enrico Mantini Remix of the new Masterbuilders track, not realizing it was done in my living room, and mixed down at Davidson Ospina's Studios in NJ. We had a chuckle about it, and we started planning a trip for Mr. Holland to invade NYC and spin at one of our Open Bar Music official parties. Holland agreed and after playing with Enrico Mantini in Italy in August, he's making his way to the big apple. Nuff Said! The crazy baldhead is coming to play some sick tunes in style. Darren books our Open Bar DJs into the UK and he takes care of us when we come down. Now we return the favor and showcase one of the truly dynamic talents in London. Holland has been resident at Pacha, SIN, Dirty Angels, and several established parties and you'll remember him from the SAY HOUSE party in Miami last March.

He is joined by resident DJs Oscar P and Mr. Sternstein, with a warm up set by the lovely DJ Aafia. words by Oscar P

Media Services NYC will team up with new radio upstart SyndicatedBeats.com host Birago Jones. SB will create new programming using Media's content. Jones will produce and air the radio shows which will include Open Bar Music's weekly radio show, and Media's syndicated news which will be incoporated to the site. Media Services NYC will handle all online promotion driving traffic to the online radio site. Birago Jones started djing as part of the dj team "DFC" (Dance Floor Corporation) in Washington DC. While in Miami, he received a Master's in Education. He developed computer based music education software for a large music retailer. He then became a professor at a large art college in Miami in computer animation and interactive media design. After some time away from the DJ scene, Birago, decided it was time to return. Two years ago, Birago and friend Darrell Hawkins started the highly successful podcast "Progressive Soul." At the beginning of this year, they ended the podcast to work on music separately. In March, Birago was approached by Hector Romero of SAW Recordings to produce and host the SAW radio show for XM Satellite radio. In conjunction with the launch of that show, Birago started the "Syndicated Beats" podcast. Jones has slowly been developing as a radio personality and growing a base of fans with SB. This deal will enhance his standing among record labels, and radio promotion companies as well as give Media Services NYC a great media outlet to showcase talent.

DJ DOVE VS PEECH BOYS REMIX PACK OUT NOW!

Of all of the anthems and classic to bare the Larry Levan moniker, his quintessential sound and perfectionism was epitomized by one record in particular, this groundbreaking offering from 1982. The New York Citi Peech Boys were an electro-disco collective that comprised Michael de Benedictus (a synthesizer player who often jammed alongside Levan in the DJ booth at The Garage), vocalist Bernard Fowler and guitarist Robert Kasper. 25 years on DJ Dove helms the project and fellow New Yorkers Davidson Ospina and Oscar P who add a soulful undercarriage to Fowler's timeless cries to rewrite history. So what made DJ Dove tackle this classic? "It’s one of my favorite records of all time," says Dove. "I grabbed the vocals, made the track, and took it to West End". "They liked it, we made a deal, but then the company decided not to be active anymore and release new music instead just dealing with its back catalog. So I talked to the boys at Open Bar Music who delivered great remixes". Open Bar is one of the hottest new labels out there right now and they were granted a license from West End....We have a fantastic remix package feat Javi Lopez, Sirkhan, Angel Manuel, Stereo Mutants, Jordan Rivera. and of course Davidson and Oscar... Thank God or else this would have been a white label instead of an actual release that deserves attention". Nuff Said.

Kolour Recordings returns to your crates once again and for our fourth installment, we travel across the pond to Germany for a stop with up and coming house producers Rene Gawron & Ron Paris aka Gawron Paris. Rene and Ron are building quite an impressive resume' so far and, with releases on Nordic Trax, Kolour Recordings and a forthcoming EP on Greenhouse Recordings, the boys look poised to make a lot of moves in 2007. When you think 'Workaholic' one name that SURELY comes to mind is Chicago's very own Chris Grant (Jackin Tracks, Spatula City, Kolour Recordings, DAE, Odds and Ends). Chris enlists a solid, chuggy, and versatile remix that is ripe for any time of the night. Next up, west coast's Scud Bloom (Aroma, Spatula City, Control, Kolour Recordings). Scud laces us with a remix that impeccably walks the line between a deep and all out peak-hour tune. EP receiving support from LawnChair Generals, Sound Republic, Bryan Jones, Joey Youngman, and Mr. V

*Original Mix: Ron and Rene deliver a deep, melodic number here with complete with lush key stabs, relaxed bassline, and tinged with vox stabs.
*Chris Grant 'Labor of Love' Remix:
Chris delivers a very chunky affair here with excellent percussion work and keys that are smoother than a baby's backside.
*Scud Bloom's Double Shift Dub:
Scud's remix is a seemingly perfect blend of proper deep house with funky beats that were just destined for the dancefloor.
